I have a suggestion I would like to see implemented
I have no complaints at all about customer service or any product in the 38 years I have shopped Safeway, but in the produce department I have a suggestion I that I think would be helpful to a lot of people.
The signs are a good size and the price is in very large font, but the variety or name of the product is in such a all print that its difficult to make out without bringing along a magnifier. There is a large white space yet available on the signs, so it would be nice if some of it could be used for a somewhat larger print. I realize it may take some time to make that change, so I will wait a couple of weeks to see if anything happens with my suggestion.

At our recent weekly trip to Safeway we had an unfortunate experience with a deli person. My husband was on the receiving end of a very condescending employee.
At the end of the transaction. We left, but my husband felt compelled to go back and confront the person. At the end of the discussion he did not feel heard. So he asked another employee to call for a manager.
My husband and I have shopped at Safeway for over 20 years, and what brings us back is the very the extremely friendly staff.
Well, the manager came down and Randall did very little to ease the situation.
I said to him I expect this kind of service (lack of courtesy and friendliness) at Walmart, but not Safeway.
I still feel unheard. I wish that I could still give complete confidence in our shopping store to any of our friends.
You need to be aware of the lack of customer service from your management staff

Completely dissatisfied
The manager trying to take my money out of my wallet when I left it there at the checkout. the employees at the checkout teller saw the money in the wallet when they found it.
I went to pick up the wallet from the manager and was missing 2 $100 bills .missing ,but $30 left in it .Even after the other employees vouch for me saying they had seen $100 bills in the wallet. The manager said he didn't look in the wallet .when I picked it up and I approached him and confronted him on it , he told me didn't know what happened to the hundred dollar bills .20 minutes later after getting home I got a phone call from the manager saying they found them on the floor. yet there was two other bills in the wall that we're still there .sleazy sleazy company .untrained employees with the odd exceptional individual working for them. I have shopped at that store for over 45 years and now I'm absolutely disgusted with it since sobeys took it over.
I know how to save on card for the first time in my life . I intend to promote boycotting sobies safely from public property so they can't do a thing about it but they are a horrible horrible grocery chain.

Frustrated with many sale items either sold out or not even offered.

I live in Langley BC, went to Safeway and decided to fill the tank. So I used the pay at the pump, it said to pick $50 $100 to authorize.
I chose $100 and put $81.86 of fuel in . Later that evening I looked at my app and seen there were 2 separate purchases $100 and $81.86 and this took place May 9 th . I gave it a good few days to see if I'd recieve a reimbursement but none to this day. I spoke with the manager and attendant at gas bar and they said 5 business days and it's well past that .
They seemed annoyed and unbothered by my question. Where is my $100 ?
I have my records on my card app. Just let me know how to get them to you and I will.

Screamed and spit on by your night manager
Either way I did not deserve to be treated as badly as I was by this night manager I shopped tonight 7 7 2022 at 1019 pm. I had a terrific cashier and paid and exited the store.
Outside I was approached by a young Native American man I gave him money and Vachon Cupcakes.
I said go inside before they close and get something to eat. He said he would and I put my groceries into my vehicle. I thought maybe I should go inside just in case they give him a hard time (no more than 3 to 5 minutes after he entered the store) so I got a bag and walked inside. This is when I saw the person walking away from a very tall man who was racially screaming at him to drop the cupcakes.
I stepped in and told this man I just purchased those cupcakes and gave them to the homeless man and also gave him money to come inside and buy something to eat. This man screamed in my face and spittles on me that spare me your bleeding heart *** you dont know what this guy stole. Wheres the receipt then?
I told him its in my vehicle and I could gladly go and retrieve it for him. But instead of calming his dumb *** down and maybe apologizing for his arrogant and rude behaviour; he continues to scream and spit at me while doing so and right close and I told him loudly and angrily to back the *** up!
I told him he was behaving like a psychopath and get the duck out of my face. Thats When I turned and I saw my cashier grace standing there, I said to her you saw me pay for those cupcakes he has no right to act the way hes acting. She said you dont know what we get in here and how many people steal things. Again that may be the case but in this instant it was not.
Let me explain this to you very very carefully!!
the entrance that is open is the entrance where the produce section is; where the Vachon cupcakes are located is at the far end of the store; so that man(homeless) did not have enough time to get all the way over to the cupcakes steal them before being accosted by this night manager with a bad *** attitude.
Either way I did not deserve to be treated as badly as I was by this night manager perhaps he should go and get some training on how to properly speak to people because there is no excuse to harrasss and belittle myself for being an honest kind and caring person.
The homeless man really deserves an apology as well from mr night manager Racial profiling and jumping to conclusions before knowing the whole story is not what any manager should be doing.
I will Not be visiting this store again, and I think I will contact the newspaper. They like bloody bleeding heart *** stories, especially when it is racial profiling!
I will however be contacting head office or corporate office tomorrow and letting them know of my disgust over how I and a homeless man were treated by your poor, overworked, racial profiling, rude, ignorant Night Manager!

Preferred solution: I would like an apology. I would also like that you either reprimand your night manager and sent him for some sensitivity training because racial profiling is unacceptable behaviour and I don’t care who it’s from or who he is or thinks he is.

March 28 at Safeway on Davie St in Vancouver BC. I purchased an item and was overcharged by .50c.
Customer Service agent checked the item and issued a .50c refund through my debit card which was used to pay for original purchase. I was then asked for my phone number which made me feel that I was somehow in the wrong. Because of this and only because of this I stated that the item should be free ( price was $9.99) by the terms of the scanning code of practice. Agent then re worked the receipt and credited whole cost of the item.
Is it your policy not to abide by this code unless the customer brings it up? If so why don't you just stop following the code as there does not seem to be a true desire to follow the spirit and the purpose of that code.
User's recommendation: These mistakes are quite frequent. Check your receipts carefully. If there is a discrepancy between the marked price and your receipt check the bar code on the price tag against the one on the merchandise. Take the issue to Customer Service immediately and mention the scanning code of practice.

Your husband has larger problems if a deli worker can make him feel that way. The manager probably didn’t see your husband’s side so now he’s upset with two people. Next time include specifically what happened.
